When you enter your students, DO NOT select the "Region Only" option! Since we are both fielding a band and qualifying students for the Area-level, use the option that allows for advancement beyond the "Region Only" level.

Hello Friends,
I hope this year is off to a great start for each and every one of you!
I wanted to send out a quick email to let you know that the All-Region Jazz Audition Entry Portal is now open.
The audition date is September 24th and will take place @ Abilene Cooper HS with a start time TBD shortly.
A few notes about the audition process to help you in your preparation…
- We are fielding a jazz band for the Spring Clinic and Concert Weekend through this audition process.
- The Clinic and Concert Weekend will take place on February 28-29, 2020 @ the Wylie PAC. This year's clinician will be Dr. Jeff Cottrell from Hardin-Simmons University.
- Students who advance to the Area-level at this contest will record their Area audition the same evening. (Note: There is an additional fee for that contest.)
- We are using the State Improv Etude (C minor Blues) for both the Region (live) and Area (recorded) levels of the contest.
- The director entering students into the contest must be a current member of TMEA for the entries to be valid and for students from your school to be allowed to participate.
We will need judges to help fill out the audition panels. My plan is to have at least four panels: Trumpets, Trombones (Tenor and Bass), Saxes (Alto, Tenor, and Bari), and Rhythm (Piano, Bass, Guitar, and Drums).
