Good afternoon. I hope this email finds you, your family, and your band students safe and healthy. The purpose of this email is to announce two important region 6 band events that will help us increase communication this summer. 

Region 6 Band Virtual Town Hall Meeting

We will have a TMEA Region 6 Band Town Hall meeting on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at 11:30am. This will be much like the TMEA state band division town hall meeting held last week but with a local emphasis. Mr. Jay Lester, UIL Region 6 Music Executive Secretary, will give us a UIL update and be available to answer questions. If you have a topic for discussion, please let me know, and I will add it to the agenda. I hope you will join us as we share ideas and news from around the region. Here is the meeting information:

Region 6 Band Facebook Group

I've created a Facebook Group to promote communication between all TMEA Region 6 Band Directors. Once a member of the group, you are welcome to share thoughts, suggestions, questions, concerns, announcements, and topics for discussion. Many of our school districts share information and coordinate their calendars. It is just as vital for us to keep the lines of communication open. TMEA All-State Jazz Information & Files

Colleagues,

Audition material for the TMEA Region and All-State Jazz Ensembles will be selected from the TMEA-TJEA All-State Jazz Ensemble Audition Etudes available on the TMEA website. The TMEA All-State Jazz Ensemble Audition Packets will now be available on JUNE 1, 2020, at the following link: http://www.tmea.org/divisions-regions/band/jazz. All Errata for the TMEA All-State Jazz Etudes can be found at http://www.tmea.org/divisions-regions/band/jazz. 2021 Practice tracks will also be available on JUNE 1, 2020 and can be found here: https://www.tjea.org/resources/tmea-all-state-jazz/

As a reminder: the TMEA Region 6 and Area Jazz Auditions will be held on September 22, 2020, in Abilene at Cooper High School hosted by Matthew Raines. The contest is not yet open for entries. I will email you once again, letting you know when the entry system is open.
